Before you choose
  • Most transoms take two, mounted symmetrically either side of the drive. Under about 10ft of beam, two is the standard setup.
  • Every light here is surface mount. It fixes to the transom with a cable gland, so there is no cutting a hole below the waterline and no haul-out.
  • Blue and white read best in clear water and look the part at the dock. Full RGBW lets you change it. Green pulls baitfish, so it is the fishing choice.

Thru-hull

The bright end of the range.

Thru-hull lights sit flush in the hull and put far more light in the water than anything surface mounted. They are a bigger job: a hole below the waterline, usually done on the hard by a yard.

Before you choose
  • This is a haul-out job. The fitting goes through the hull below the waterline and wants a yard, not a Saturday afternoon.
  • In exchange you get the brightest light available and nothing protruding to catch weed or take a knock at the dock.
Dock & swim platform

Light the water you tie up in.

Dock-mounted and submersible lights for the slip, the swim platform and the bait well. These hang off the dock or drop in the water rather than bolting to a hull, so nothing gets drilled.

Before you choose
  • These mount to the dock or hang in the water. Nothing attaches to the boat, so there is no hull work at all.
  • Green is the fishing choice - it draws baitfish, and the gamefish follow. White and blue are for looks and for seeing the water.
